Sisu (see-su)
A Finnish term that embodies the spirit of determination and resilience in the face of adversity. Sisu reflects a sense of inner strength and courage.
In a world focused on hurrying children into structured learning environments, we welcome a more exploratory approach. At Sisu we provide the space and opportunity for learning to take place through projects and play.
Dirt
We are a nature based learning program. We believe children should spend much of their day in the outdoors rain or shine. This landscape provides the freedom and connection that allows little bodies and minds to find balance.
Learn
The Sisu Method offers an array of opportunities for children to cultivate their creative passions. We explore learning through, art, baking, cooking, moving, music, and mindfulness.
Repeat
We prioritize connection before correction. While much of what we do allows students a lot of freedom; we hold our students accountable to adhere to our core values of Honesty, Humility, Integrity, Kindness, and Respect. We set the bar HIGH for how our students conduct themselves in our home as well as yours. At Sisu we believe in the power of repetition.

Our family wanted a well-rounded approach where our children could grow through play, exploration, & critical thinking, with a strong focus on mental and emotional well-being. Finding Sisu has been an incredibly positive experience. Since our children joined over a year ago, it’s been wonderful to watch them thrive, surrounded by the care & encouragement of Ms. Dustie, Grandma, Ms. Amanda, and their friends. Sisu offers far more than academics; it creates a supportive environment where children feel valued, seen, and challenged in many areas of their development.
